After taking another brief hiatus and reading some other books, I’ve finally finished my re-read of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams.
5th book in the Hitchhiker’s Trilogy
Mostly the same characters that we follow in the other books, although Zaphod is nowhere to be found in this book.
Various places throughout the universe, ultimately making a return trip to Earth.
Arthur is looking for a planet he can live on, while Ford heads back to the offices of the Guide and finds that they’ve been bought out by another company. What they create could tear apart the very fabric of the universe.
I’ve read the book before, and have fond memories of reading it. However, I think all of these books are best read in conjunction with a good friend reading them. Nearly every other page in this book has a line that could easily become an inside joke amongst a bunch of friends who have all read this book.
A fun read, but don’t try to take it too seriously.
